Sticker You!

Sticker You 3My kids love stickers. I find them under the table, on the hutch, on their beds, on the walls, on their belongings, on each other, and, well, pretty much anywhere they can reach to put them! Now they do get in trouble at times – because let’s face it – not all stickers come off nicely! You know, those ones that leave the white paper and the sticky back? The ones that you have to dig out the Goo Gone in order to completely remove?

What about you though? Have you outgrown stickers? Or are there days where’d you like to be an overgrown kid and plaster stickers everywhere? Some days I feel like that. Maybe it’s the whole – if you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em mentality! Well, I’m here to tell you that you CAN be an overgrown kid! Yay! There’s this company called Sticker You that makes stickers. All kinds of stickers! And not just stickers – but labels, temporary tattoos, decals, iron-ons, magnets and a whole slew of custom items! They can make them permanent, removable, clear or colored, dishwasher an microwave safe (what!?), washer and dryer safe (double whaaaaaat?!). Check this out – it lists all the different qualities you can have in the different stickers.

Sticker You was kind enough to send me 30 labels Sticker You 4for each of my kids! And not just 30 of the same label! They put cute pictures on each and half of them included my kids’ full names and half just have an initial for the last name, which I really appreciate for some items! So you see, I got to go be an overgrown kid, grab those labels and go sticker crazy! I was really tempted to apply one to all three foreheads and see how many washes they could go through, but then I thought better of it. Haha!

However, I have to tell you about a couple places I did put them. I have a son in Grade One. He’s a boy – need I say more? So I put a label in his lunch kit – on the fabric label spot where I was supposed to write his name. I put a label on the tag inside each of his winter boots. And I put a label on his water bottle. Now keep in mind – I said he’s a boy! The process of removing his winter boots involves something along this line – bang foot on floor repeatedly until boot starts to loosen, then begin the bang and drag motion that continues the process. Do not use hands as this is very counterproductive. To the process of banging the floor I’m sure? Remember those tags I put in his boots? They have been in position for a month. They have been abused for a month! They still look brand new! I’m serious – brand new! The water bottle label – gets bumped around all day, gets taken in and out of a zippered pocked in his backpack every day. Still looks brand new. Hasn’t lifted even the teeniest on the edges. The label in his lunch kit – brand new. I was concerned about it because it was on fabric instead of the smoother inner of the lunchkit and the end actually hangs off a wee bit – but nope – it still looks as good as the day I put it on!

Sticker You 2I’m a believer! I did not realize I could find stickers that were that durable! And the awesome thing is that they can be removed and – guess what – NO RESIDUE will be left! Now that makes a Mom happy! The bad part of it all? Now I have a wish list. I want to get some of their Freezer labels and I think their Spice Labels are cute! And then when I get into making jams and jellies and other canning, I really want to get their Jam Labels. Plus they have writeable labels – now wouldn’t they be great to have on leftover containers? I could scrawl the date on it instead of looking in my overflowing fridge and wondering when I made something and whether it’s growing fuzz or not? I have a terrible habit of sniff testing items to see if they’re still edible! I’m also a fan of the washer/dryer safe labels! I don’t tend to label any of the kids Sticker You 1clothing, but I’d really like to get some reusable bags some day for lunches and it would be wonderful to be able to put labels on them and have them last for wash after wash – I have a friend who has done this and it’s so great to know that if those bags get left behind at school – they’ll find their way home because they have a name on them!  Also, if you have a child with an allergy, they make allergy labels.  Do you send your kids to camp?  They have clothing and shoe labels!  And they have some really cute home and address labels.  Gah!  I want to buy all the labels!

  13. Elizabeth Matthiesen says:

These labels sound amazing, I love that they seem to stick everywhere and not come off – that’s really a major plus point. There’s absolutely no point in using labels if they come off when the article is washed.
