2016 Baby Must-Haves!

There’s SO many options out there for babies and parents today. In fact, it can be downright overwhelming. I remember as a first time mom, how I thought I “needed” a lot of things that I now realize really are not must-haves…and really were items that just took up space in our home instead of being put to good use. I definitely am always learning as a parent, but after 9 years and 5 babies, I feel like I’m finally able to come up with a list of things that truly are my “must-haves!” So here it goes…

babyA good quality sleep sac. This is a must-have for our cold prairie winter nights. My babies have never kept their blankets on, but a sleep sac is a safe and effective way to keep your little one warm, cozy and feeling like they are cuddled! It gives me peace of mind as well, knowing that my babies are not cold during these winter nights! I even have a very lightweight sleep sac for the summer months. We love ’em!

Next are some good baby bottles. The Tommee Tippee bottles have been making their presence known in our home. They are convenient, easy to clean, BPA free, and have a nipple design that babies seem to really like. Whether it’s used for milk or water, the Tommee Tippee bottles are a great, practical and affordable product that you’ll want to have on hand if you’ve got a little one in your home!

There’s never a dull moment in our home – with 5 beautiful children, my youngest gets to join us and his older siblings on all sorts of outings and adventures! My baby carriers are a MUST-have when we are on the go. In fact, I’ve made my husband turn around and go home a few times when I realized we’d forgotten the baby carrier at home. I enjoy several different styles of carriers…but this particular one (the Boba) is my favorite for babies who can hold their heads up well. It’s a fabulous back-pack style carrier that keeps baby nearby, happy and allows me to have my hands free to care for – or hang onto 😉 our other children!

Last, but certainly least is yet another practical item. I’m all about practicality these days! 😉 A Pack ‘n Play. This is ideal for traveling. We take it to Grandpa & Grandma’s, we will be taking it camping, we take it along anytime we are spending the night somewhere else. It’s the perfect way for our little guy to be kept safe and happy during nights or nap times while we are away from home. It’s ultra easy to set up and take down, and folds down into a compact carry-able size that I can easily tote around when I need to.

There you have it! A handful of my top baby items for 2016. When you’re planning for a new baby, the top things to keep in mind are: Is it simple? Practical? Portable? Easy to clean? If so, it will likely be a great product for you and your baby! 🙂

  2. Funny when I was expecting our first I though I needed it all??!!! What a fool so much one doesn’t need only a waist of money.

Some great pointers here. I must admit it was much easier years ago since we didn’t have the number of choices available today. I had 7 and would have loved some of the Tommee Tippee bottles. I do like the idea of the Pack ‘n Play, we were lucky our grandparents had cots for the kids but I know of many who’s parents had downsized and no longer had their own cots.
