DK Discovery Day ~ Weather Watcher ~ GIVEAWAY!

DK Discovery Day Banner2.2indexWeather is one of those things that happens…well…every single day! And although we see and feel and even hear the weather every day, it is a fascinating topic that has been a lot of fun for our family to read about and begin to study together. From rainbows, to snowflakes to storms, clouds, fog, light breezes, hurricanes and so much more are all topics that are covered in DK Canada’s Eyewitness Explorer Weather Watcher.

Eyewitness Explorer Weather Watcher doesn’t just have information to read though. There are over 30 easy activities to help children to have a hands-on way of learning more about weather. The science behind each of the activities is explained which lays the groundwork for the experience that is to come. For our kids though, it is no secret that the experiments are their favorite part. The experiments are simple and easy to do right at home – most of them with materials that we already had on hand. If you’reย  little confused by the instructions, there are also step-by-step photos to ensure that you’ll succeed – which, after quite a few ‘failed’ experiments is a great thing to help me get it right the first time. ๐Ÿ˜‰

There are other real-life photos in the book as well that are perfect for giving your kids a realistic idea of what different types of weather look like. This book is a great way to help your kids explore nature and begin exploring the fascinating world of weather.

WIN IT!

DK Canada is giving one of our readers a copy of Eyewitness Explorer Weather Watcher! In order to enter please follow the instructions on the form below. Open to Canada only. Contest ends March 14, 2106.
