Raincoast Books – Dear Baby: I’m Sorry! ~Giveaway!

Dear BabyAs parents, we strive to be good parents, right? Okay, some days we strive to be the best parents, but really all that does is set us up to fail! And other days, we strive to survive, cuz with little ones around, some days that seems to be the chore of the day! If you need to inject some humor into your day, you need to check out “Dear Baby, I’m Sorry” from Raincoast Books. The author, Sarah Showfety, nails life as a parent as she chronicles one “I’m sorry” moment after another!

You know, those moments when you do things that later you think were maybe not quite what they could have been? For example, “Dear Baby: Sorry, you are not allowed to wake up yet.”

Or how about, “Dear Baby: Sorry my parting words when daddy took you out today were….”Don’t rush back.” Isn’t that just the truth!

You know what I love about a book like this? It’s honest. It’s the truth! Sure we all strive to be great parents, but the reality is, some days it isn’t much fun! Getting up in the middle of the night umpteen dozen times to nurse the baby. Changing explosive diapers. Changing a diaper only to have the baby pee again. I think our record was four diapers! Yup, our son had a knack for waiting until you had the fresh diaper in position and pulled up, then letting loose with another stream of one kind or another! And seriously, there are times, particularly as a stay-at-home-mom, when I’d just like to get away from it all! Much as I love my kids, I treasure what another Mom said to me once “sometimes the best way to be a good Mom is to have a break from your kids.” It’s so true! And when we can laugh with each other in those moments, it helps us be better parents, it helps us see the humor, it helps us realize we are human, we will make mistakes, but as long as we love our kids like there’s no tomorrow, we’ll be okay!

You need to visit Sarah’s website for more “I’m sorry” moments as she continues them there! I got a good chuckle about this post. I can totally see doing this!

“Dear Baby: I’m Sorry” was a refreshing, humorous look at the joys of parenting! While I may be past the little baby moments, since my youngest is now three, it sure brought back memories of some similar occasions when they were younger! And it made me smile and laugh and reminisce. If you are interested in purchasing this book, it’s available on Amazon and Chapters, and as always, check out your local bookstore first! Make sure you follow Raincoast Books on Facebook as well to keep up with what’s new there!
