www-scholastic-caCrafts are one of my favorite things to do with my girls. I remember being quite “crafty” back in the day when I was a little girl…but somehow ‘lost’ that through my young adult and young married years! However, it’s all been re-awakened now that I’ve got three girls of my own to ‘craft’ with!! So, when it comes to Christmas and holidays, we are all about making our own handmade holiday gifts. That said, as a mom, time is limited sometimes, so I need a little help with my handmade holiday ideas…and my help often comes from Klutz!

klutz

Klutz (Scholastic) has a TON of fabulous kits that make both great gift ideas, and are great for making gifts for those you love. For example, the Make Glitter Clay Charms kit was an instant hit with our girls. It’s really easy – just make it, bake it, sparkle it and wear it (or wrap it up and gift to a special recipient to wear!) There’s some really fun design ideas included here and with the sculpting tool your kids (and maybe even you! πŸ˜‰ ) will have a lot of fun creating their own itty bitty sparkly unicorns, flowers, flowers, mushrooms, etc. If you’re “stuck” or need some inspiration, the instruction book comes with plenty of great ideas and helpful tips.

Next on the list are Paper Lantern Animals! These are perfect for your imaginative kids! There are 21 different designs to choose from (or come up with your own unique design!) and with the supplies included you will be able to make six adorable animals shaped paper lanterns. The thought of making paper lanterns sounded a bit tricky to me at first, but Klutz makes it really easy and fun with their patterned papers, and stencil shapes to trace from!

www-scholastic-caOne more super fun idea is the Grow Your Own Crystal Jewelry kit from Klutz! With this kit your girls will be able to make 7 beautiful, sparkly projects. It’s the perfect way to combine science with creativity. You’ll get to explore the science of minerals and gems with this box of fun, while also ending up with some amazing crystal projects that you can wear when you are finished. As with all the kits from Klutz, everything is included and all the tools that your stylish little scientist are ready for them to put to good use! πŸ˜‰ The instructions are easy to follow, and the creative crystal-themed fun is so much fun!
I can’t think of any mom, grandma, auntie, sister, etc. who wouldn’t be proud to wear some beautiful, handmade crystal jewelry!

Klutz has LOADS of other great titles to choose from. Whether your kids like robots, face painting, nails, coloring, science, lego or jewelry there is something for them in the Klutz collection! We love Klutz – both for making our own handmade gifts, and for giving way for others to enjoy in the coming year. Take a peek and I think you’ll agree that there’s a lot of fun to be had with Klutz!
