Diono – Two Products to Benefit your Vehicle!

diono-logo-eKids and vehicles. They tend to not go too well together for some of us. Do you remember those days of your kid hating the car seat? Or having everyone tell you – “just take them for a drive around the block” when they wouldn’t sleep – but all your kids would do was scream? Ahhhh, I really don’t miss those days! Now we’re onto different challenges. More along the line of dirty boots kicking the seat in front. Or books and toys strewn everywhere as they drop them accidentally but somehow never remember to pick them up before stepping on them with those aforementioned boots. That seems to be the reality in our world!

Needless to say, I was quite pleased to be offered to products from Diono. Their products have been our vehicles for the past 7 years, ever since our son was old enough to move out of his bucket seat. We have always appreciated the safety and quality of their seats and so the brand has been a winner for us.

diono_stuff_n_scuff_lifestyleI was sent two items. The first was the Stuff ‘n Scuff. Remember that back of the seat the keeps getting kicked? Yup, this is to protect it! One of our vehicles has a hard plastic back to the passenger seat while the other just has fabric. So we’ve placed this in the vehicle with the fabric back! No more dirty feet on the back of the seat! The two pockets at the top will come in very handy as well as our kids are always looking for notebooks and pens so they can doodle away! I really appreciate the fact they made this adjustable – the top goes around the headrest but the bottom tab can be snugged up so that it’s right up against the seat back and not flapping around and getting in the way. Want to put it away for awhile? It folds up nice and neat and will be small enough to fit into the back pocket on the seat! My one concern will be longevity. The material for scuffing against does seem quite thin and I do wonder what will happen if it gets a good kick at -40 degrees! I will say this though – the price tag sits at $9.99 (currently sold out on Well.ca, however, you might have to check out another retailer at the moment!) so you’re not out a lot even if you only get one year of protection out of it.

diono-travel-pal-onwhiteThe second item I got is great. It’s called the Travel Pal and it really is a pal. Since we do most of our travel in a minivan, we have two extra seats available most of the time. Even if we fold the 40% portion of the rear seat down for extra luggage space, that still leaves a seat beside our son, who usually sits in the center so that he has extra leg room! This Travel Pal now sits beside him! This is basically a cubby – the main portion has plenty of room for some books, notebooks and pens, toys etc. There are pockets along the side and back so you can slide things like pens in to keep them from getting lost. The entire inside of it is waterproof in case something gets spilled. Then there are two insulated cup holders on the front. There are more pockets on the sides to tuck away a few more things. I really just need to teach my kids to be more organized now! Lastly, there is a tab hanging off the back that I probably wouldn’t have known what it was for except that we also have a seat protector that has the same tab. It’s for tucking between the seat and the back to hold it in place – and has that “sticky” drawer liner type stuff one the one side to keep it from sliding. This makes the Travel Pal even better because it doesn’t slide off the seat every time you brake! Oh, and it also folds flat if you run out of space on a particularly loaded ride. At $19.99, I think this little organizer is a pretty decent deal.

diono-dreamliner-gallery-3-new-image-320x320There’s another item Diono has that I wish I’d had when our kids were babies. Their Dreamliner travel bassinet looks lovely. You know, rather than hauling around that big playpen? This would have been handy for that little baby stage where you might not want them in bed with you (for more reasons than one!) and yet don’t want them just on the floor somewhere!

We’ve been happy with our Diono products over the years, particularly their car seats. I’m always happy to see companies coming up with accessories to go along with their products and it’s great when they think ahead to problems we, as parents, have – like dirty boots on seat backs! If you’re like us and most of our road trips are a minimum of 4 hours, you might appreciate items like the Travel Pal to help keep things a little less hairy!

To keep up with more Diono products, check out their website or follow them on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, or watch their videos on YouTube! With any or all of these, you’ll be keeping in the loop!

I so remember all those little feet pushing at the back of my chair – why they never wanted to stop I couldn’t understand. I too had a couple of these seat protectors, unfortunately I didn’t find them until the kids were too big to use their feet on my seat back any more. 🙂

  4. I have never tried a Dino product, but they do sound like quality products to check out.

  5. Lynda Cook says:
