Rocky Mountain Decals ~ Discount and GIVEAWAY!!

My decor taste is very eclectic… and really undefined,  mostly rustic and country modern but I love to mix a little whimsy in too. I have an appreciation for minimalism but have yet to achieve anything even close to minimalism in our house! One thing I do know about my style be it decor or fashion, I like to shake it up often, the problem is I rarely have the time to mix it up so i keep it pretty colour and season neutral. Since my rental days and even now as a home owner I’m hesitant to make anything permanent, probably the reason why most of my picture frames are hung with heavy duty foam tape instead of nails…I also hate mudding nail holes..  I don’t think I’m alone in this!

I was able to try out this adorable animal world map, I am going for a woodland animal theme in our play room and it fit right in with the rest of the decor! I’m also a big fan of anything multi functional so a piece that doubles as art and a learning tool is a win in my book! Our oldest daughter is very curious about animals and with my parents and siblings travelling alot right now, she is often asking what animals they are seeing. She loves seeing the pictures my family sends (like her aunties with a koala recently), we have even been lucky to be able to facetime with them when they have come across some neat animals! This map has been really handy for teaching Della about the different animals and where they live or what animals her aunties or grandparents might be seeing soon!

Each continent was cut individually so it was easy to place on the wall and was forgiving enough that I could easily re-position them. This vinyl really sticks! I changed my mind about a couple pieces and decided to re-position them, it took a minute to get the edge of the vinyl unstuck but once it came loose I was able to remove it and adjust without a problem, so I know I don’t have to worry about little fingers being able to pick them off the wall! I’m admittedly lacking in the geography knowledge department, especially compared to my hubby who is a geography buff, so I anticipated needing his help when putting up this map. Not to worry, Rocky Mountain Decals had me covered here too, they included a tiny little vinyl map that I stuck on the wall to help me figure out where to place all the pieces. The whole process was very simple and took me less than 10 minutes!

They have also developed a line of removable wallpaper, which takes away all the hassle of wallpapering – no glue, paste or professional installation required! Boy do I wish I had discovered them before my mother in law and I attempted to wall paper our back entrance last fall! I have been itching to spruce up our bedroom though… when I do I’ll know exactly where to turn now! If wallpaper isn’t your thing check out their shape decals, animal decals and quotes. Have something specific in mind? They offer custom orders too!

My cousin has a shower curtain with a colourful map of the world on it, it looks marvellous unfortunately you can’t get them anymore. My brother had a world map on the wall where he’d flagged where his kids and I had been living over the years, it was fun. 🙂
