Power Up in the New Year!

The new year is here, the resolutions have been made….now it’s time to act on those resolutions, right? πŸ™‚ When it comes to New Year’s resolutions a lot of them include eating healthier or having healthier lifestyles in general. So to help get you on the right track this year, I want to share one of my newest (and very helpful!) books from DK Canada.

Super Clean Super Foods is packed to the brim with fabulous tips and great ideas on how to enrich your diet and boost your health with the healthiest super foods in the world. Did you know that there are (at least!) 90 foods that can be labeled as “super foods?” I have to admit that I only knew of a handful of them…yet, many of them I have in my own home and just didn’t realize the amazing nutrition that is in them. Each nutrient-filled food is described, pictured and…here’s the best part…there are several ideas on how to use these foods in every day dishes, meals or snacks.

Super Clean Super Foods has 350 ways to enjoy these super foods…you’ll never have a boring meal again with all these great ideas! πŸ˜‰ Sometimes new ideas sound a little daunting as I’m already a busy mom and feel like there’s not time to add a whole lot of extra stuff into the schedule (including coming up with new food ideas). However, most of the ideas that I’ve read so far are simple, easy and not very time-consuming. For example…beets. Did you know it’s a super food? It just so happens we’ve got a bunch from our garden this past summer and now I have some new inspiration on how to add this healthy food into our meals. One of the ideas that I would never have thought of – but love – is to add some beet puree into brownies. Unique? Tasty? You bet…and healthy too!

The best vitamins and minerals for our bodies are the ones found in what we eat…so lets eat clean and fill our bodies with the nutritional goodness that comes from super foods this year! It’s a challenge for you and for me…and in the end we’ll be healthier because of it!

  1. I think I could learn a thing or two from this book. I consider a lot of healthy foods to be boring and could use some tips on how to not make them boring!

  2. Lynda Cook says:

This looks like a great book to have, I have no complaints to eating healthier and buying organic, but truthfully it just costs way so much more, I find it’s ridiculous how much they charge for a head of cabbage

  3. Elizabeth Matthiesen says:

Not my type of book I’m afraid but one of my sons would love this as he’s very much into healthy foods, even weighs out each bit of produce for his meals.

  4. I love how informative and colourful this book is! Very helpful to assist my family in eating healthier in 2017.

  5. Judy Cowan says:

Would be a good book to check out, I know my family probably would not eat all the foods but it might give some good tips.
