Inroad toys Playtape!

Just a quick post to let you know about a cool new product our family tried over Christmas holidays. Inroad toys sent us a roll of Hotwheels playtape and 1 package of corners (2 corners) to try out.  My husband and 3 year old had fun creating a race track for the little cars on our living room floor, she doesn’t have that obsession with cars that little boys seem to have but enjoyed it just the same. These stayed on our hardwood floors for a few weeks and were walked over plenty I think I might have even mopped over them once but stayed really well, they were also easy to remove and didn’t leave anything on the floor. My favorite part was that I didn’t even notice when I stepped on it which is a nice change when stepping on a toy! My husband’s only complaint was that he wished we had a second set of corners so they could make a complete track, this would have been easily remedied if we had taken a quick trip to Wal-mart where they are now available! They are not limited to hot wheel tape either, they also offer classic black roadway, train track and off road patterns in a variety of widths and lengths!

My husband has recently unpacked all his childhood model train stuff and that is an activity he and our oldest daughter have bonded over, its so fun to see them setting up tracks and controlling the trains together. My hubby mentioned that a lot of people also use the play tape roads in their model train scenery too!

I have a soft spot for anything legitimately charitable, I am also a big advocate for anything that encourages more creative play so the combination of these really caught my attention! Here is what the company shared about their campaign to help children in less than ideal circumstances,  InRoad Toys, hosts a “Road to Recovery” campaign that promotes play as a means for coping, therapy, reducing stress and anxiety, and healing. Through Road to Recovery, InRoad Toys work with a variety of charitable organizations, putting in place PlayTape-based educational play programs and initiatives in several North American hospitals and Ronald McDonald houses. PlayTape is ideal for these settings because it requires little space, is recyclable, is low-cost, and fosters imaginative play and self-expression – both individually and in a group. Since launching Road to Recovery just a few months ago, InRoad Toys has donated thousands of rolls of PlayTape to kids in need, fostering healing through play. The program has been a great success and the organizations involved are expanding PlayTape’s use as they find more opportunities to explore its “healing” power.

A fun and easy way for kids to be creative and support a thoughtful company, Play tape is also available on Amazon.
