Scholastic Monday ~ King Baby

Kings and Queens is a ‘game’ that is commonly played in our home. Our kids enjoy dressing up, pretending to be royalty and being the ‘King’ or ‘Queen’ for a day. It’s all just a lot of fun!

But what about a baby…who’s a King? A King Baby. Sound intriguing? Sound like something your kids would enjoy and laugh and giggle at? Well, a King Baby is exactly what you’ll get when you add the book King Baby by Kate Beaton to your bookshelf! The new book from Scholastic is a laugh-out-loud picture book that tells a story you won’t likely forget.

Please meet…King Baby! This is a king like none other. He greets the adoring public with giggles, wiggles and coos. Hugs and kisses are more than welcome. However, it’s not all fun and games with King Baby. In fact, he has plenty of demands and his subjects are having a wee bit of trouble keeping up! So King Baby takes matters into his own hands.

Can you see the parallel’s here with the real-life story of a newborn joining a family? This book is a funny and honest take on life with a new baby. As a mom, it was fun to read this book, and fun to giggle along with how accurate and real-life some of King Baby’s actions and decisions are.

King Baby would also be a fun little addition to throw into the gift bag for a new mother! For more details or information about this fun Canadian title, feel free to head over to Scholastic!
