Bella Luna Cloth Diapers ~ Giveaway ~ Store Credit

I love cloth diapers! Yup I get a few sideways looks when I say that, but I really do love them! Before I ever had kids I knew I wanted to use cloth diapers and while I was in for a bit of a learning curve at first, I think I have the hang of it now. I’ll be honest I started out with great intentions with my oldest daughter, we were going to cloth diaper full time and NEVER use disposables….well that didn’t quite happen… Being a first time mom and running a daycare was a lot to deal with and I soon came to realize that I just couldn’t manage cloth diapers too. The second time around tho, I was prepared… somewhat… I was a little more familar with the whole baby thing and took a little time off from the daycare to figure out a workable routine for us. As a result I was able to fit cloth diapering comfortably into that routine. While I still use disposables every once in a while, like when we are away for the

weekend, have a busy day running errands ar when my husband is home alone with the kids, cloth is what we use the majority of the time.

My mom used cloth dipaers when I was a baby too,  I’m pleased to say cloth diapers have changed

alot in the 20….something 😉 years since my mom used them. The technology behind them has improved greatly, the addition of snaps and velcro being one of the greatest improvements in my opinion, I have to chuckle when I mention cloth diapers to older women and they usually comment “yikes how do you handle the safety pins?!” Higher absorbency in slimmer materials is also a huge improvement.

There is such a huge selection of patterns in the outer shell fabrics now, while I have managed to keep my “stash” (as the cloth diaper collection is commonly referred to as) fairly small, there are lots of woman who love the prints so much they cant help but buy them and manage to amass a huge collection! Seeing the wide array of prints available it’s easy to understand why they buy so many! Lots of cloth diapers are made in China but there are also a few Canadian made companies! I was very pleased to recently discover Bella Luna Inspirations, a company in Welland Ontario that hand makes cloth diapers and other cloth products.

Bella Lunas diapers are so beautiful, I haven’t seen prints like them before, they offer beautiful multi toned and embroidered pocket diapers, the diaper I was immediately drawn to this beautiful plumb combination (pictured on my daughter) and the deer print reminded me of stars in the night sky, lending it a magical feeling. They also offer the cutest diapers with a co-coordinating “dinosaur tail”, they are absolutely adorable for photo shoots!! I was also sent a liner and booster combo, their liners and boosters are all made from bamboo with a layer of zorb in the middle for maximum absorption with minimal bulk.

The owners of Bella Luna haven’t forgotten about mamas either they offer a beautiful selection of cloth menstrual pads and breast pads, I got a chuckle out of some of the cartoonish prints! They also offer another great product the spray pal, which i will be reviewing soon too!
