Big Change Starts Small ~ Brita

About two weeks ago, was a special date that likely went by unnoticed by most of us, if not all of us. March 22nd marked World Water Day. Perhaps one of the reasons we fail to take note of this day is because, for us, clean water is not an issue. It is something that many of us (myself included) often take for granted. Did you know that one in ten people globally lack access to clean water? That’s a LOT of people. 80% of illnesses are also linked to poor water and poor sanitation. It’s time to do something more about this and this year Brita Canada decided it was time to take a stand for clean water.

To celebrate World Water Day and to bring awareness to the importance of clean water Brita Canada released a specially designed reusable filtering water bottle on March 22nd. This bottle serves several purposes – first off, it gives Canadians the chance to make a statement about the importance of clean water. Secondly, buying one of these special Brita filtering water bottles will provide a year’s supply of water to a person in Irkaat, Kenya. Of course, the bottle also provides YOU with clean water to drink both at home and on-the-go!

Irkaat, Kenya seems like a world away…and it really is…but that doesn’t mean that Canadians can’t make a difference. Small changes and decisions made my us here in Canada can have global effects. For example, through purchasing the Brita® Limited Edition ME to WE Statement Water Bottle, Canadians are standing up for clean water for communities like Irkaat, Kenya but also, here at home. The Brita filtering water bottle will make things better for our environment and our landfills. It easily replaces up to 300 plastic water bottles from landing in our landfills. If you really want to know what kind of change you’re making through your choices, Brita has found a way for you to know! All of these specially-marked Brita Filter for Goo products (including the statement bottles, pitchers and filters) all have a special Track Your Impact code attached to them. You can go to www.brita.ca/impact, enter your unique code and see exactly where and how your purchase has made an impact. Pretty neat, huh? 🙂

Now it’s your turn to make a small change that may someday result in a big change!

Brita® Limited Edition ME to WE Statement Water Bottle is a great way to help others less fortunate than we are. We can’t fathom having to walk for miles to just get water but that’s the way it is in some places.
