Dumpling Cats ~ GIVEAWAY!

Cats…fluffy ones, striped ones, chubby ones and playful ones. I LOVE cats. The only problem is that I don’t love having indoor  cats in my own home. So, since we do not live on an acreage that presents a problem for us….we don’t want and indoor cat and we can’t own an outdoor cat. What is a cat-lovin’ girl to do? Crochet her own non-hairy, non-dirty collection of Dumpling Cats of course!

Dover Crafts is my source for some of the cutest crafty ideas and this book of Dumpling Cat crochet projects is going to give me plenty to do. 🙂 They are so cute, chubby and publishable, aren’t they?! They even have some of the cutest names I’ve heard in a long time….like Waffles and Cheeks. 😉

Now, I’m no expert at crochet…so patterns need to be fairly simple and straightforward for me to get them completed correctly. The nice thing about this book is that there are patterns for a variety of skill levels so I can start with some of the more simple patterns and work my way up to the more difficult ones. Dumpling Cats is great for visual learners too as it has both easy-to-follow written instructions as well as full-color photographs and simple drawings to go along with the written parts. Everything is explained thoroughly….right down from the ears to the tail! In addition to the sweet little cats, there are also some bonus patterns for a cat bed, food bowls and more. Every year I like to put something homemade into our kids’ Christmas stockings….I think they might find some adorable Dumpling Cats in them this year (shhh! Don’t tell! 😉 )

Dumpling Cats is a great way to take a little down-time, enjoy the hobby of crochet and make some fun little “pets” as well. I’m really enjoying Dumpling Cats and look forward to using it a lot in the next few months.

Want to make some Dumpling Cats of your own? One of our readers will win their own copy of Dumpling Cats by Sarah Sloyer. In order to enter please follow the instructions on the form below. Open to Canada & USA only. Contest ends August 21, 2017.

  1. Janet M says:

My granddaughter absolutely loves cats and just went to a cat cafe with her mom so she would love a dumpling cat.

  2. I wish I had time to crochet, but I’m too busy looking after real foster cats. If you’re not sure a long-term pet is for you, try contacting a local shelter/rescue to ask about fostering as a trial-run. Be warned though, you may fall in love with your foster pet and end up adopting him/her. I know. Twice. 🙂
