“Messy Alphabet Book” by Put Me in the Story

Put Me in the Story has impressed me again. 🙂  This time the personalized book fits the personality of my three year old son perfectly.  You know how every family has that one child that is just a bit more “unique”?  And in my case by unique I mean loud, messy and a somewhat of a trouble maker? Don’t get me wrong, we all love this certain three year old mess maker…..it’s just that he has created a reputation for himself. Family and friends have even began to refer to him as “wreck it Beckett”. (yikes)

So, naturally, when I saw the Messy Alphabet Book as an option to review I knew it would be perfect for my Beckett.  First of all, I think that no one can own enough alphabet books.  Books that teach my children letter sounds and letters are winners with me! And, c’mon, who doesn’t love Sesame Street?  My husband and I can still remember songs and skills we have learned from watching Sesame Street as children. Haha.

I have ordered personalized books before but this one impressed me with how many times my son’s name was used in the story.  Beckett really felt like he was part of the Sesame Street gang as they went through the alphabet.  Having his photo at the beginning and end of the book is always a special treat. 🙂

With Oscar the Grouch as the main character in the book you can imagine some pretty messy ways of learning the alphabet. Some of my favourites are: J is for juice all over the floor and R is for rings around rarely washed sinks. Makes me all warm and fuzzy because it reminds me of my own house. Ha! Beckett thought the book was hilarious.  He enjoyed T is for tuna-fish marshmallow blend. Yum. 🙂

Near the end of the book there are two pages with the letters of your child’s first name and last name.  The child is encouraged to “be messy” in decorating his or her own initials. Pretty fun!

My favourite part of the book is the dedication on the first page.  It is a chance to let your child know how much you mean to them.  And there it is in writing…..so they will have something to go back to to remind them of how much you care.

Put Me in the Story has an abundance of super books to personalize.  They also offer neat gift sets and cool things for adults! Christmas is coming…..this would be a great website to check out for those gifts! Wink, wink. 😉
