A Challenge & A Laugh!

Games are one of my favorite things to do. Here’s why…it forces us to get off our devices and computer and spend some quality time together – with our kids, with our husbands, with our friends, extended family, etc. Because we are off of our computer, phones, etc. we now have the opportunity to connect with others, laugh together, and make lasting memories. Some of my favorite memories are from times when I have sat down and played games with those I love. This means that I’m always on the lookout for new games and Hasbro has plenty of great ones to choose from!

First up is a game for older kids, teens and us grown-ups. Hearing Things is geared toward ages 12+ and it can definitely get the whole room laughing quite quickly! One player puts on the speech-cancelling electronic headphones. The other teammate now has the job of reading a random phrase off their card (you know, something great like: Pigeons like to cuddle.”)ย ย Now it is the job of the person with the headphones to try to lip-read (or guess!) what their partner is saying. This game can bring on laughter and fun within minutes! It’s great for slightly larger groups and for playing with teams. How well do you think you’d be able to lip read? ๐Ÿ˜‰

Next is one for those of us who are really great at getting things done with 2 less thumbs than usual. ๐Ÿ˜‰ In other words, Get a Gripย  make simple tasks become hilariously hard since there are no thumbs allowed. You can tuck away more than just your thumb to make it even more challenging! Get a Grip from Hasbro comes with handy little bands to wrap your thumbs in so that you are unable to use them.

Next, you get to try to do a task, draw a picture,ย  or sculpt something without your thumbs. It’s harder than it sounds to try to unbutton a shirt, sculpt the monster under your bed or draw an elephant without your thumbs! We had some pretty good giggles over the two boys trying to put ponytails into the girls’ hair without using their thumbs. haha. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Get a Grip is geared for ages 8+, but our 5 and 7-year-old were able to easily play along with only a teeny bit of help. It was an easy game to learn and lots of fun to play!

Both of these games from Hasbro are a lot of fun and make great gift ideas or game ideas for your upcoming family gatherings or Christmas holidays.
