DK Discovery Day ~ Crafty Gifts ~ GIVEAWAY!

I used to LOVE craft time when I was a youngster. Something about growing up and being busy with getting married and having children seems to have taken over some of those ‘craft times’ that I used to have. I’m not upset about it though…in fact, I LOVE the new way that I can do crafts these days – and this is with my own children. It is SO much fun to craft with our kids (besides having to clean up the messes we make! 😉 ).

In the past few months we’ve been enjoying some inspiration for our craft times from Crafty Gifts by Jane Bull. Regardless of how much fun I have doing crafts with some of the older children, sometimes the younger ones need my attention too, which means that the older ones are left to create on their own. This craft book is PERFECT for young crafters from ages 7 and up. The book is really easy for kids to use as each of the projects has step-by-step instructions with pictures and easy to read steps.

My 9 year old daughter has led her younger siblings (ages 7, 5, and 3) in several of the crafts in Crafty Gifts and has successfully completed them and they’ve used the fun inspiration in the book to personalize their projects and make them their own. I’ve received a very special paper flower bouquet from the kids. It’s my kind of bouquet – I don’t have to water it! 😉 I treasure it though as I know it was made with love by little hands and it is definitely one of a kind! Some other fun ideas that you’ll find in Crafty Gifts are button art pictures, picture frames, homemade wrapping paper and more.

Crafty Gifts is available at DK Canada and is a wonderful way to get creative and keep busy during these cold winter months. There are loads of great ideas that kids can make and enjoy or give as gifts to those they love.

DK Canada is giving one of our readers a copy of Craft Gifts! In order to enter please follow the instructions on the form below. Open to Canada only. Contest ends February 12, 2018.
