GrowOya ~ Porous Clay Irrigation Vessel

I have to say, when my GrowOya arrived in the mail all I wanted to do was go plant my garden!  Then a bit of depression crept up on me because, well, I live in Saskatchewan, Canada……and pretty much everything is still frozen here.  So I got creative and planted some (hopefully soon to be) […]

When it comes to delicious savory foods, there are a few “secret” ingredients that I love to throw in to add some extra delicious flavors to our meals. Now, they’re really not that secret, but most recipes that I add them to don’t call for these ingredients…yet they always turn out to be more flavorful […]

I love every single part of summer – except for one thing…the mosquitos, horseflies, ticks or any other bugs that like to bite me and my family! Those little creatures I could do without…unfortunatly they don’t think they can do without us so that means we need to find our own ways to keep the […]

Cool Season Gardener!

There’s something about spring that makes some of us get itchy feet. And itchy fingers. Itchy to get in the soil. To plant seeds. To see pretty green shoots coming up. To see the leaves starting to pop out of their buds. Spring! Us folks in wintry Canada love spring! I’ve always been intrigued by […]

Stay Safe, Clean & Bug Free…Naturally! ~ GIVEAWAY!

Spring is here, summer is just around the corner and I LOVE IT! It’s such a treat to be able to be out the door and have all 5 kids in the van ready to go in less than five minutes (in comparison to the 15 or 20 minutes it takes in winter! 🙂 ) and it’s simply wonderful to be able to be able to spend time playing outside, planting the garden and soaking up the sunshine in a t-shirt. There is just one thing about summer that we really dislike – and it’s the bugs. Mainly the mosquito’s, ticks and horseflies or any other bug that decides it wants to bite myself or my kids.

One thing that I love, love, love about summer is the fresh garden foods…fresh veggies, fruits and even fresh spices! Yum! Let’s face it. Food that comes directly from the earth tastes a LOT better than food that comes directly from the shelf. Speaking of the earth – did you know that this week we […]
